The DINAMIS acquisition and dissemination Policy evolves according to the user needs expressed and collected, but also according to the Consortium’s funding capabilities.
Recurrent acquisitions
DINAMIS undertakes recurring acquisitions annually for the benefit of its authorized Users:
- Annual and vintage IGN coverage of mainland France and Corsica with Spot 6-7.
- Recurring coverage of the coastlines of mainland France with Pléiades.
- Recurring coverage of France’s overseas regions (excluding French Guiana) with Pléiades.
Recurring Pleiades Neo coverage of French territory is currently being studied by a Committee of Public Sponsors led by IGN and CNES.
All products resulting from these acquisitions are ortho-rectified by IGN.
On demand acquisitions
DINAMIS continuously offers a permanent On-demand Call for Spot 6-7, Pléiades, and Pleiades Neo new data acquisition, in response to its Authorized users needs.
In order for an enduser to access this Call, his or her Entity has to successfully subscribe to DINAMIS through the Facility’s Membership Program. Authorized users can only then submit requests for new data aquisition: dedicated satellite tasking, or Airbus archives ordering.
These requests are submitted and transmitted via the DINAMIS Catalog. The Facility assesses the feasibility of the requests received and decides whether or not to activate them, based on its financial capabilities.
In case of large requests, or in case of requests submitted by non French Authorized users, the user himself / herself provides financal support in order for DINAMIS to acquire the new data sets, within a specific DINAMIS institutional pricing.
Reminder : DINAMIS’s cold archives exposed by its Catalog are downloadable by allAuthorized users at no cost.
Product dissemination
All data resulting from all DINAMIS new acquisitions (recurring, on-demand) are made available to all Authorized users of the Facility from its Catalog. Their download by Authorized Users is free of charge and without quotas.
All products disseminated through the DINAMIS Catalog are associated with harmonized Licenses that promote sharing between scientific, public, and private actors.
All acquired products (tasking, archives) are added to the Catalog.
In addition, specific Spot 6-7 datasets over French mainland territory and Corsica are disseminated as part of an Open Data Experiment.
France Coverages Open Data Experiment
DINAMIS and Airbus launched an Open Data Experiment in October 2023 to freely and widely distribute vintage coverage of mainland France and Corsica, with a resolution of 1.5 to 6 meters depending on the Spot 6-7 acquisition modes, orthorectified by IGN in an RGE-compatible projection.
The vintage annual coverages date from the 2013 – Present days period. These products are associated with an Etalab License.
All of DINAMIS’s vintage annual metropolitan coverages of France are accessible via the France Coverages Open Data Experiment interface.
Data offering Evolutions
The DINAMIS acquisition policy will be enriched with new VHR data complementary to the data currently acquired and disseminated, based on (1) user needs and (2) the financial capacity of the Facility to supply the data of interest.
Between 2026 and 2027, changes will be made based on a roadmap centered around:
- The integration of new THRS data from recommendations made by users, DINAMIS founding members, and DINAMIS partners;
- Improvements to the ergonomics of access services to take these new data into account;
- Adaptation of the system to new missions or directions that the DINAMIS Steering Committee may set.
